Excellent article.

Creativity is painful and the “carrot and stick” approaches hinder it, short-term goals are achievable and even rewarding at first but will cause stress, burnout and a loss of productivity in the long run. Nurturing and cajoling our intrinsic motivation leads to enhanced output and satisfaction.

I've analysed Daniel Pink's book "Drive" and expanded on his concept of "intrinsic motivation" and how it's vital to ensure high creativity output - would appreciate any feedback!
