I hope to see a day where “diversity” isn’t just a buzz word or uphill battle. Everybody wins when diverse views and voices are at the table. We all learn more, strategize and work better, help more people and solve more systemic problems to improve the quality of life for our fellow men, women and children… After all, isn’t that the whole point of nonprofits and philanthropy?
Excellent article Tee- you introduce and expand on the concept of conscious and unconscious bias eloquently. Really zesty, passionate, succinct writing.
I've written an article titled "You Don't Know What You Don't Know" based on learnings from Matthew Syed's "Rebel Ideas" which focuses more on the question of WHY diversity is important as opposed to your view of HOW to make diversity happen. I think it complements your piece perfectly and I would love it if you could provide me with some feedback.
